RAVENA — The Ravena Fire Department held its annual membership meeting April 4 and elected a new slate of officers for the coming year.

Kevin Phillips was named fire chief, with Travis Witbeck elected deputy chief and Bobby Travis will be assistant fire chief.

Michael Mattick was named captain, and three members were named lieutenant — Kristina King, Wyatt Houde and Sarah Trombley. Mary Lou Lennon was named fire police deputy chief and Harry Stannard is the new chief engineer.

Executive officers were named as follows: Charles King Sr. is the president, Michael Mattick is vice president, Kristina King is secretary, Megan Aurelia is treasurer and Wendy Mattick is the financial secretary.

There are three trustees, including Jack Morrow, Sandra King and Jason McMullen, and Ronald Rauche is the sergeant-at-arms.

Three new members joined the Ravena Fire Department. Sherry Cardona is now a social member and two junior firefighters have joined the department’s ranks — Jake Porter and Ethan Roe.

The Ravena Fire Department is an all-volunteer force aimed at protecting the community, and is always looking for new members, according to the department.

“Our membership over the last year has put in countless hours responding to calls, training, fundraising and conducting the day-to-day business of our organization just as we have for 126 years,” according to a statement from the department. “What is hard to quantify is the herculean effort that our membership has put in to building our department to better serve this community over the course of the last year. It requires honest and civil debate. It requires research. It requires project execution. Most of all, it requires that our membership come together for the sole purpose of ensuring that our department meets the needs of our community.”
