Police charge minor with arson

GLENMONT — An unidentified minor has been charged with arson in connection with a fire Monday morning.

The Bethlehem Police Department responded to a report of an active structure fire at 45 Beacon Road, Glenmont, on Monday at 11:44 a.m.

An unidentified juvenile was inside the residence and was able to leave the building with no injuries.

Police and fire investigators have deemed the fire to be arson and placed the unidentified minor under arrest.

“Bethlehem Police Detectives and Fire Investigations determined the fire was intentionally started and have charged the juvenile with arson and criminal mischief,” according to a statement from Bethlehem Police.

Both charges are felonies.

The investigation into the Monday morning fire is ongoing and no further details are being released at this time, according to police.
