STUYVESANT—State Police from Livingston arrested Diana L. Huyck, 52, of Stuyvesant for second degree murder, a class A-I felony, April 17.

Troopers responded to a reported stabbing on Dolly Drive in Stuyvesant, April 16 at 6:14 p.m.

Upon their arrival they found the victim, John K. Ford, 50, of Austerlitz and attempted life-saving-measures.

Mr. Ford succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead by responding emergency medical personnel.

A preliminary investigation indicates Ms. Huyck allegedly stabbed Mr. Ford during a domestic dispute, according to a press release from State Police.

In a phone interview Saturday, DA Paul Czajka described the relationship between Ms. Huyck and Mr. Ford as “longtime acquaintances” who lived together “on and off.”

Mr. Czajka said the weapon was a steak knife.

County Judge Jonathan Nichols signed a search warrant executed by law enforcement as part of the investigation.

Ms. Huyck was arraigned in Stuyvesant Court and sent to the Columbia County Jail without bail pending a future court appearance April 21.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office, the Columbia County Coroner’s Office, Troop K Forensic Investigation Unit and Troop K Major Crimes Unit all investigated on the scene.
