County releases final, official election results

COEYMANS — The results for the Nov. 7 town and county elections have been finalized by the Albany County Board of Elections.
The county released the final, official results of the election, including recanvassing, and there were no changes to the outcome.
Democrat Stephen Donnelly will be the new town supervisor at the beginning of January when he will take his oath of office at the annual reorganizational meeting.
Democrats Ronald Hotaling and Michael Stott will also take their seats on the town board after being sworn in.
Once all the votes were counted and made official, Donnelly was elected with a slim majority of votes, receiving 883 votes to incumbent Republican Town Supervisor George McHugh’s 859. Donnelly received 50.63% of the vote, with McHugh receiving 49.25%.
Among the four town council candidates, Stott was the highest vote getter with 898 votes, or 25.98%, with Hotaling running a close second with 888 votes, or 25.69%.
Incumbent Republican Town Councilman Brandon LeFevre received 842 votes, or 24.36% of the vote, with Town Councilwoman Marisa Tutay getting 826 votes, or 23.90%.
