KINDERHOOK – On March 22, the Ichabod Crane School District was notified by the Columbia County Department of Health that a district high school student has a confirmed case of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
A statement on Ichabod Crane the website reads, “We are in regular contact with the health department and they are actively working to identify and get in touch with anyone who’s had close contact with the student. Anyone identified will be contacted by the health department. If you are not contacted, we’ve been told it is because they have not identified you or your child as a close contact.”
The district statement also says, “if you or a family member begin showing symptoms of respiratory disease and suspect it may be COVID-19, contact your healthcare provider as soon as possible.” The New York State Department of Health’s website (https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/protect-yourself-and-your-family-coronavirus-covid-19#symptoms) has a list of COVID-19 symptoms.
The statement was also emailed to all Ichabod Crane parents/guardians on March 22 at 6:30 p.m.
