RAVENA-COEYMANS-SELKIRK — The RCS district’s school business manager, Joanne Moran, resigned from her post and her temporary replacement is a former superintendent from the Greenville district.
Moran stepped down effective Sept. 16, and will return to a school district she worked at prior to joining RCS.
“She has helped to strengthen our business office procedures and has created a team that has provided excellent service to our staff and community,” according to a statement from the district. “She will be missed.”
The district has launched the search for Moran’s full-time replacement and in the meantime has hired a temporary replacement.
“While we continue the search process, we will have an interim school business official to assist us during this period of transition,” according to the district. “Ms. Tammy Sutherland will be taking on this interim role for the next two to three months.”
Sutherland retired from the Greenville district after 36 years of service. Prior to being named superintendent in 2016, she served as interim superintendent, treasurer and as the district’s assistant superintendent for business.
“She brings a variety of experiences to our district, including skills in budget development, human resources, capital project development, financial planning and reporting,” according to the district. “A certified School District Administrator and School Business Administrator, she will be a wonderful asset to us as we continue with the hiring process.”
Sutherland takes on the temporary role immediately.
