Flag Day set for today


HUDSON–The annual Flag Day celebration organized by Hudson Elks Lodge 787 takes place today, Saturday, June 13, and it will spotlight local TV news anchors and reporters.

The parade, usually the largest such event in the city each year, step off at 3p.m. with a line of march that takes it westward down Warren Street.

All four Albany area TV stations will be represented again in this year’s parade. Greg Floyd is the co-anchor of the 6 and 11 p.m. news at CBS6. He has spent the last 28 years in the news business. He will be joined by Steve Ammerman, co-anchor of the evening newscasts at News10. Mr. Ammerman has been co-anchor since February 2007.

Phil Bayly at Newschannel 13 will also be in Hudson June 13. He is the morning anchor and a member of Channel 13’s staff since 1986.

Rounding out the four will be Kathryn Hauser of Fox23. She joined the station as a street reporter in the summer of 2006.
