City man gets shot in the arm

HUDSON—An 18-year-old Hudson man suffered a gunshot wound to his arm during a shooting in the city, Thursday, August 25 at 11:32 a.m.

Hudson Police received a number of calls about shots fired near 231 Columbia Street. Officers and detectives found a victim with a gunshot wound to his arm at the intersection of Fourth and Union streets.

 

City police say a number of crime scenes were involved. They were assisted by the State Police, Columbia County Sheriff’s deputies and Greenport Police. City detectives processed the scenes, which caused the shutdown of portions of Union Street, the 200 block of Columbia Street and surrounding alleys for some time. These streets and alleys have since been reopened.

The Greenport Rescue Squad took the victim to Columbia Memorial Hospital. He is in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
