HUDSON—An eight-year-old girl was seriously hurt when she was hit by a motor vehicle while riding her bicycle, Saturday, October 10 at 10:12 a.m.
Hudson Police Lieutenant Lynne M. Finn reports that a vehicle was traveling east on the 300 block of Columbia Street when the youngster, riding her bicycle, came from between two buildings, lost control and drove into the path of the vehicle.
The Greenport Rescue Squad took the child to a landing zone where she was picked up by a Med Flight helicopter and flown to the Albany Medical Center.
She was listed in critical condition Saturday afternoon. Neither the girl nor the motorist were identified by police.
No charges are pending against the operator of the vehicle, according to a press release.
The investigation is continuing.
