CHATHAM — Town residents can now see their tax bills online at http://egov.basny.com/chatham. Town Supervisor Jesse DeGoodt announced at the regular December meeting last week that residents’ 2012 bills would be at that web address.

Also at the December 15 meeting the board began discussing a proposal from Recreation Director Sheri Franks to use wind power to run an aeration system that will filter the water at Crellin Park. Board member Henry Swartz said he didn’t think there would be enough wind at the park to power the system but that it was an idea worth considering.

Bob Balcom, elected to a seat on the board in November and set to take his seat in January said during the public comment period that the board should look into solar power for the aeration system.

Mr. DeGoodt said the board was also moving forward with the idea to name the town hall after board member Tom Myen, who died in November. The board plans to have a building dedication ceremony this spring.

The next regular board meeting will be Thursday January 19 at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
