HILLSDALE—State Police from Livingston are investigating a two-vehicle fatal accident involving a Town of Hillsdale plow truck and a passenger vehicle. The accident occurred Thanksgiving eve, Wednesday, November 27 at 9:15 p.m.
The plow truck was headed east on State Route 23 when a minivan, also eastbound on State Route 23, struck the rear of the truck.
The driver and front seat passenger of the minivan were taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. A 14-year-old back-seat passenger in the minivan was seriously injured and taken to Albany Medical Center. A 5-year-old back-seat passenger in the minivan died at the scene.
The operator of the plow truck was not injured. An investigation is ongoing as to the cause of the accident. Involved parties names are being withheld pending family notifications.
