Body found floating in river

SELKIRK — A woman’s body was found Tuesday floating in the Hudson River in Selkirk.

The body was seen floating in the river near Henry Hudson Park at around 11:33 a.m.

Bethlehem Police identified the body Tuesday evening as that of Okelly Yhap, 29, who was reported missing from the city of Albany, police confirmed.

The body was removed from the river by the Bethlehem Police Department with the assistance of the Selkirk Fire Department, and was turned over to the Albany County Coroner.

A cause of death has not yet been released.

The case remains under investigation and no further information is being released at this time, according to the Bethlehem Police Department.
