RAVENA — A Ravena man was arrested Friday and faces charges of possessing images of child sexual exploitation, New York State Police said Tuesday.
Christopher Noto, 39, was arrested after an investigation and a search warrant was executed at his Ravena home Oct. 11.
Noto was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class D felony, and possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony.
The case is being investigated by the state police Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, along with the State Police of Latham.
“Noto is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation,” according to a statement from state police.
The investigation stemmed from information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Noto was arrested Oct. 11 and taken to the State Police at Latham barracks. He was arraigned in Coeymans Court and released under the supervision of the Albany County Probation Department, according to state police.
