HUDSON—“The Grand at Barnwell has experienced another death since Saturday, bringing to 15 the number of deaths from Covid-19 at the facility,” Columbia County Department of Health Director Jack Mabb said, Sunday, May 23.
The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Barnwell, 3230 Church Street, Valatie had 127 positive cases of the virus as of Friday, May 22, according to DOH figures.
Also since yesterday (Saturday, May 23), the DOH learned that another seven individuals within the county had tested positive for the virus.
“There had been a bit of a lull recently. That makes 370 the number of positives in the county,” Director Mabb said in the county-issued May 23 coronavirus-update press release.
The total number of coronavirus deaths in Columbia County as of May 24 at 11:30 a.m. held steady at 32 for a second day.
The health department reported May 23 that Columbia County has had 371 positive cases of Covid-19 and currently 149 are active cases. There are 67 additional residents on mandatory quarantine and 3 residents on precautionary quarantine.
Of the 360 total cases, 190 have recovered from the virus; 16 of the positive cases are hospitalized, none of the hospitalized cases is in the ICU.
The DOH has received 4,398 completed test results for Columbia County residents.
