WESTERLO — A Westerlo man was charged with third-degree rape, according to state police.
Michael Dickershaid, 32, of Westerlo, was arrested at his home Aug. 19 by state police from New Scotland.
The charges stem from an incident that allegedly took place in November 2021, according to state police.
“On Dec. 17, 2021, state police received information that an adult man had sexual contact with a child,” according to a statement from state police. “The investigation determined that Dickershaid reportedly had sexual contact with a child under the age of 17 in November 2021 while in the town of Westerlo, NY.”
Dickershaid was arrested and taken to the state police barracks in Westerlo for processing. He was arraigned at the Westerlo Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
