ROUND TOP — Forest rangers came to the aid of an injured hiker in Round Top on Friday.
Rangers responded Nov. 24 at 3:24 p.m. to a call from the Winter Clove Inn to assist a hiker with a knee injury who was stuck on a steep trail in the woods.
The 68-year-old Oneonta resident had gone approximately 1.5 miles into the woods Friday on a trail that was known to be steep and challenging.
Four rangers responded to the call and reached the individual, whose name was not released, around 5 p.m.
The man’s leg was splinted, and he was transported on a wheeled litter out of the woods by 7:05 p.m.
The individual refused further medical care.
