GREENVILLE — Exciting progress is underway across campus! The district is one step closer to improved learning spaces for students and staff.
MS AND HS ART ROOMS
Renovations are progressing with the space expected to be available for student use as early as next week. While the room will be a usable teaching space, there will be a few finishing touches installed over winter break, like storage cabinets. The high school art room is on track to be completed by the spring.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CLASSROOMS
Students have enjoyed learning in their new classrooms!
Cabinets will be installed over December break, adding more storage and organizational features to the room.
The next set of classroom renovations will begin this summer and should be completed by the time school begins in September. Many of these renovated classrooms are outfitted with ceiling fans and dimmer lights, creating a more adaptable learning environment.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ‘GYMNASIUM’
The new gym construction is underway and expected to be ready for use by next fall. The best part? The new gym space is being constructed with additional space, ensuring plenty of room for physical education classes and storage.
Although the footprint of the addition looks smaller than the footprint of the former “multi-purpose room (small gym),” it’s important to remember the old footprint contained a gym space, PE offices, copy room, stage, and Speech Language Pathologist offices, while the new footprint is exclusively for a gym space.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MUSIC ROOMS
The music rooms will be where the former multi-purpose (small gym) was. These rooms are in the process of being sheetrocked and are anticipated to be complete by the spring.
“It’s exciting to see students and staff benefit from the new and improved spaces on campus,” said Assistant Superintendent for Business, Todd Hilgendorff. “I look forward to seeing the next phase of construction complete.”
