Since Greenville’s capital project was passed in December of 2022, district administrators have been working with an engineering firm to solidify plans for the project and determine a timeline for construction that would be least likely to cause disruptions to everyday learning.

As part of phase one of the project, renovations began in June and are slated to be completed by the time school starts in September. Phase two at the elementary school will begin in June of 2025.

In his press release after the project was approved in December 2022, District Superintendent Michael Bennett said, “We’d like to thank the Greenville Central School District community for coming out to support the capital project that will significantly improve many of the teaching and learning spaces at the elementary, middle and high school levels. We look forward to the day students will have the opportunity to learn, and our educators will have the opportunity to teach, in these new spaces.”

As a reminder, the elementary school building (including the playground) is closed to all students, faculty, staff and the public for the remainder of the summer. The school will open again in September. In the meantime, the elementary school office has temporarily moved to the high school. The phone number remains the same at 518-966-5070 x301.
