CAIRO — A Cairo man was arrested Tuesday and faces numerous weapons charges.
Ian Lynch, 33, of Cairo, was arrested following a search of a residence on Main Street.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office executed the search warrant March 26, allegedly confiscating numerous firearms, ammunition and other weapons production paraphernalia.
Items found during the search included a loaded AR-15 assault rifle with a 3-D bottom chamber, a high-capacity magazine, numerous 3-D printed frames for AR-15 rifles, a 3-D printed frame for a handgun, ammunition and suppressor attachments, as well as several polymer80 blocks for handguns and rifles, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Previously recovered were a 3-D printer, suppressors and a 3-D handgun frame.
Lynch has been charged with one count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and five counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, all felonies.
He was arraigned and remanded to the Greene County Correctional Facility without bail.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation by the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, along with the Greene County District Attorney’s Office and the county’s Probation Department.
