RAVENA-COEYMANS-SELKIRK — It may feel like the school year just ended, but the time has come to sign up students for the fall sports season in the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk school district.

Registration will begin taking place for the 2022-23 academic year later this month, according to the district website.

Junior varsity and varsity fall sports registration will begin Friday, July 22, and will continue through Friday, Aug. 26. Varsity and junior varsity are open to high school students, grades 9 through 12.

Modified sports for the fall season are open to middle schoolers in grades 7 and 8. Registration begins Friday, July 29, and will run through Friday, Sept. 9.

Fall sports physicals must be completed either with the student’s own physician, or during the summer at the school district on Thursday, Aug. 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. To make an appointment, call the school nurse’s office. For students at RCS Middle School, call 518-756-5200 ext. 3021 or email kwaddingham@rcscsd.org. For high school student athletes, call 518-756-5200 ext. 2015 or email krandio@rcscsd.org. The location of fall physicals at the schools has yet to be determined, according to the district.

The sports season begins prior to the start of the academic year. Varsity and junior varsity football begins on or after Saturday, Aug. 20, with all other fall sports beginning on or after Monday, Aug. 22.

Modified football begins on or after Thursday, Aug. 25, while other modified fall sports begin on or after Monday, Aug. 29.

More information can be found on the district’s website, www.rcscsd.org and will continue to be updated as needed.

The district began using a new sports registration process last school year and it will continue again this year. RCS families should now register their student online through FamilyID, by visiting www.familyid.com. This is the only way to register students for school sports. If you do not have internet access you can call the school nurse’s office and they will make arrangements for you to complete online registration at the school.
