Coeymans:
- Mr. and Mrs. Harry VanHoesen passed over Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Raymond P. Smith at New Paltz.
- Coeymans Troop No. 1. of Boy Scouts left yesterday (Thursday) for Saratoga Lake where they will enjoy a week of camp life.
- Mrs. Margaret Stevens and sister, Miss Katherine Fiene, had a narrow escape from death on Tuesday morning during the rain when Mrs. Stevens’ car skidded on wet concrete on the road to Albany near Cedar Hill and overturned. They were helped out of the car and were unharmed.
- TenEyck B. Powell, catcher for the Coeymans baseball team, was hit in the ear by a pitched ball while up at bat at Greenville on Saturday afternoon, when the local team crossed bats with the Greenville team. He is in the Albany City Hospital, where he is being treated by Dr. Tibbits, an ear specialist.
- Miss Laura McCarty, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred McCarty of this village, and Ralph Sinsabaugh of Albany, were married in the Grace Episcopal Church in Albany on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 9, by the Rev. David Paton. Mrs. and Mrs. Sinsabaugh will reside in Albany for a time with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Sinsabaugh.
Ravena:
- Mrs. Bert Joralemon and sons, Clyde and Lawrence, are spending the week with friends at Union Hill.
- John June Jr. was knocked down by an automobile on Saturday night last and received several slight scalp wounds.
- Mrs. F.E. Bleezarde entertained a party of boys on Tuesday in honor of the celebration of the birthday of her son, George. The boys had a merry time with games, enjoyed refreshments, and gave George something to remember the day by.
- A slight robbery took place on Sunday night at Paul’s store on Main Street, when thieves broke into the window on the east side of the building and helped themselves to what they could reach.
- Edward Lawson and family left on Thursday morning last for an automobile tour of the state, west and north.

- Mr. Wm. Walsh has purchased a handsome new side-bar surrey with canopy top.
- The only open dates remaining for the present month at the Baeren Island excursion grounds are the 19th, 23rd and 24th.
- The following additional subscriptions are reported by the officers of Grove Cemetery: H.G. Haris, $2; Theo. Robb, $2; Dr. F.G. Mosher, $3.
- We understand that Prof. Clapper of Chatham has been engaged as principal of our public school, and Miss Carrie Haunstein of Albany and a Miss Bedell of New Baltimore as assistants.
- St. Patrick’s Church in this village has been set off as a parish by itself, and will have a resident priest, Father Harrigan of Albany, who has been appointed by the bishop. Services will now be held each Sunday. This church has heretofore been included in the Coxsackie parish, and services conducted every other Sunday by the Rev. Father Walsh, whose faithful attendance upon his parishioners has been the means of building up a large congregation.
